Garage conversions
We have a specialist in house team that work on all of our garage conversion projects, We always ensure to talk each customer through the regulations and standards that must be adhered to when converting a garage into a new '“liveable” dwelling.
In all circumstances when converting your garage your local building control must be involved throughout the project to ensure all regulations and standards are met. Planning permission in most circumstances is not usually needed, however it is always a good option to get plans put together and approved by the local planning department.
SR Construction LTD can always assist with initial plans and also apply for the planning permission on behalf of the client if applicable.
When converting an existing garage into a dwelling insulation and vapour barriers need to be added to the the walls and floor of the conversion, Windows are optional but do give a great source of natural light into the new space. Fireproofing internally and in some cases externally is also an absolute must when converting an existing garage into new liveable space.
Renovations
SR Construction ltd have taken on many renovation works over the years, We’ve dealt with the smallest of renovations from small structural alterations and plastering right through to larger scale renovations, structural works, bathroom/kitchens and entire property renovations.

Building control is always a must when it comes to new structural openings or placement of RSJs. Depending on which wall is being altered in the property a party wall agreement may need to be put into place before works commence.
